Adrien Rabiot France

Manchester United and Liverpool have to improve their midfield departments and they have been after Adrien Rabiot for some time.

However, as per the latest reports going on in the media, the Reds suffer a major blow as Man Utd have agreed a fee to bring the French international to Old Trafford.

Transfer: £54.7million creative star willing to finally agree Man United move – Corriere dello Sport

Last month, Italian source, Libero (via Paisley Gates), reported that Liverpool have made a swap offer involving Naby Keita to sign the Les Bleus midfielder.

Today, MEN have revealed that Man Utd have agreed a fee with Juventus to lure Rabiot and now, they have to agree personal terms to get the deal done.

The contract will have to be secured with the 27-year-old star’s mother, who is also his agent.

Rabiot is a decorated star. He won every major domestic prize with Paris Saint-Germain multiple times before signing for the Old Lady back in 2019.

Since moving to Italy, the versatile midfielder has won every major domestic title with the Bianconeri as well. He was an important member of the French squad that won the UEFA Nations League title last year.

The 29-capped international can play anywhere in the center of the park but he is not really a creative player. The former Toulouse man has only scored 6 goals in over 120 games for Juve and last season, he did not find the net even once in 45 appearances (all competitions).

Rabiot’s current contract with the Serie A giants will expire in less than a year and he earns 7 million euros per season i.e. around 114,000 a week (Calcio Mercato).

Man United’s midfielders were average vs Brighton yesterday and it has been proven that Fred and McTominay are not good enough to help us win big titles.

Liverpool’s midfield was all over the place against Fulham at the weekend and Thiago has joined Oxlade-Chamberlain on the treatment table.

So, the two most successful clubs in England desperately need to strengthen their midfield departments but it seems that Man Utd are close to luring Adrien Rabiot.
