If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United have been ruled out from signing Frenkie de Jong and Chelsea are in a much better position.

As per today’s version of Mundo Deportivo (news image provided below), Chelsea are ready to submit a bid to sign the Dutch international but only on one condition.

The Spanish news source have mentioned that the Blues want to get the “Yes” from the 25-year-old midfielder first before making Barcelona an offer to get his signing done.

It is stated that the Stamford Bridge outfit were able to convince Sevilla and Leeds to sell Kounde and Raphinha but the duo preferred to move to Barcelona.

In such a scenario, Chelsea do not want to lose credibility in the transfer market and have decided to submit a bid for De Jong once the player agrees to move to the club.

For now, MD claim that the former Ajax man wants to stay at the Nou Camp, on the other hand, the Blaugrana want to sell him.

The Catalan media outlet have mentioned that if De Jong decides to leave, he will only move to a club that will challenge for big titles and take part in the UEFA Champions League.

Man United will be playing in the Europa League and for this precise reason, he has ruled out a move to Old Trafford despite the presence of Erik ten Hag at the club.

As per reports, a fee of £70million would be needed to hire the services of Frenkie de Jong. Will Chelsea be able to steal his signing? Only time will tell.
