The former Monaco man impressed under Ten Hag in the pre-season and in his absence, Ronaldo might be given the nod to start as the main center forward up front. The Portuguese did not have a proper pre-season but we can expect a player of his quality to feature.

Bruno Fernandes would likely start in the No. 10 role and the likes of Jadon Sancho and Christian Eriksen may be deployed on the flanks.

Ten Hag has not been able to strengthen his midfield as yet and the Dutch coach may select Fred and Van de Beek in the center of the park.

Dalot mainly featured in the RB role in pre-season and the Selecao fullback could start in the right-back position vs Brighton. On the other hand, new signing, Tyrell Malacia may feature in the left-back role.

Big money arrival, Lisandro Martinez, could start with skipper, Harry Maguire, in the central defense in front of Spanish goalie, David De Gea.
