Confident Man Utd would be willing to agree £150,000-a-week terms to win £60million race

Lyon and France striker Moussa Dembele

Manchester United were heavily linked with Moussa Dembele in the past month’s transfer window but the striker eventually stayed with Lyon.

If reports (The Star) in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have been given the green light to secure the signing of the French international in a deal worth £60million.

Transfer: Man Utd have made move to sign £375,000-a-week attacker – Face serious battle

The British source have mentioned that Chelsea are also in the race to hire the services of the striker but Man Utd are confident of outbidding the Blues and would be willing to agree terms worth £150,000-a-week to get the signing done.

The Ligue 1 star has proved his worth in the UK with Fulham and Celtic but he has not played in the Premier League, which should be a different test.

In the current campaign, he has been in top form for Lyon and in all competitions, he has directly contributed in 25 goals (19 goals and 6 assists) in 32 starts so far. Dembele has not played for the senior international side as yet. For France’s U21 team, he has netted 13 goals in 25 appearances.

Manchester United have only managed to score 36 goals in 25 league fixtures this term. At this stage in the last campaign, they already had 49 goals. They sold and did not replace Lukaku, who is doing wonders with Inter Milan this season.

Moreover, they badly miss Marcus Rashford up front. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have failed to score in four of the last five Premier League games and that is absolutely shocking.

Therefore, it is evident that the Red Devils desperately need to improve their strike-force and 23-year-old Moussa Dembele would be a quality addition.
