Convinced Man Utd to offer terms to sign £38.4million playmaker – Face competition

Dejan Kulusevski Parma

Manchester United have been linked with Dejan Kulusevski for some time and the latest reports going on in the media are intriguing.

Earlier in December, renowned journalist, Nicolo Schira, claimed that Man United and Inter Milan want to hire the services of the Swedish international in the January transfer window.

More recently, La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reported that the Red Devils have held talks to lure the 19-year-old playmaker, who is valued at 40 million euros.

On the other hand, yesterday, FC Inter News exclusively reported that the likes of Liverpool and Bayern are looking to sign Kulusevski in the summer but United have been more convinced and they have decided to offer terms worth 10 million euros to the player.

The Italian source have further mentioned Inter Milan are in pole position and the Nerazzurri face competition from the Old Trafford club, who are prepared to pay 30 million euros to secure the attacker’s signature but that fee won’t be enough for Atalanta.

The teenage sensation is currently playing on loan for Parma and last month, renowned outlet Tutto Sport claimed that the parent club, Atalanta, want 45 million euros (£38.4million) from the sale of their prized asset.

Last season, the youngster made 17 appearances in the second division of Italian football and directly contributed in 18 goals. This season, he has been impressive in the Serie A for Parma.

So far, in 16 league games, he has directly contributed in 10 goals (4 goals and 6 assist). After top performances, he deservedly earned himself his first cap for the senior international team last month.

Not to forget, last weekend, Kulusevski scored a goal and also provided an assist to help Parma beat Napoli 1-2 in their own backyard. He can play in multiple offensive positions but naturally, he is a right winger.

In the summer, Man United splashed the cash to sign a quality right winger in the form of Daniel James, who has been impressive so far in the current campaign. However, as far as that position is concerned, we do lack depth and do not have a quality cover for the Welsh international.

Mata and Lingard can play on the right flank but they are not natural wingers and have mostly been inconsistent for the Red Devils. In your view, should Man Utd splash £38.4million to sign Dejan Kulusevski in the winter transfer window?
