Report – £65million duo prepared to secure moves to Manchester United

Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich wanted to raid Man Utd and appoint Erik ten Hag as Thomas Tuchel’s successor. It looks like the Red Devils took this attempt personally and have decided to retaliate by raiding the German giants for a couple of their talents, who have a combined worth of £65m.

The first name on Man Utd’s shortlist is Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutch defender has had a couple of difficult seasons in Munich and is available for a transfer this summer. We covered a story where £45m might be sufficient to land the ex-Juventus defender.

While talks for De Ligt continue, somewhere down the line, the Red Devils also expressed interest in right-back Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan international is another player Bayern are have agreed a fee of around £20m.

Now, as per Bavarian outlet, AZ, the duo are ready to secure moves to Man Utd and are waiting for deals to be completed.

The valuation is not the issue with Mazraoui, who has already agreed a move to Old Trafford. Instead, Man Utd need to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka first, if they want to sign a new right-back. With Diogo Dalot also in the squad, space needs to be made for a new signing.

De Ligt would like to reunite with Erik ten Hag and according to AZ, Bayern would let him go in order to push for the signing of Jonathan Tah. However, a fee needs to be agreed first.

One thing that is very clear is the fact that both Bayern players have their hearts set on joining United, which is obvious. The duo have worked under Erik ten Hag before in Ajax and became household names during that period.

De Ligt would be an excellent addition to the Man Utd squad. Between Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and himself, the Red Devils will have a sorted central defence with the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans to provide backup.

Mazraoui on the other hand would be an attacking upgrade on Wan-Bissaka. The versatile defender, like Dalot, can also play at left-back. Both signings make a lot of sense for Man Utd but only time will tell if we can get deals over the line.
