Deal close – Man United’s offer to be accepted

Manchester United fans will be delighted with the reports suggesting that the club are going to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund to finally end the transfer saga.

According to The Independent, the Red Devils are close to agreeing a deal with the German club to hire the services of the England international.

Transfer: Man United can now reach price agreement for £27million to sign midfielder

The renowned British outlet have mentioned that BvB will accept Man United’s initial offer of £60million and with add-ons, the entire deal is going to be worth more than £100million.

Sancho had two top seasons in which he regularly scored and created goals for Dortmund under Favre. The United faithful would be hoping that the Three Lions star will replicate his form at Old Trafford as well.

In the recently concluded Bundesliga campaign, he directly contributed in 34 goals to help his side finish the season as runners-up in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich.

As per The Express, Man United have already decided the shirt number for the 20-year-old, he will wear the iconic No.7 shirt if he does end up completing the move.

The coveted number has been worn by Old Trafford legends like Cantona, Beckham and Ronaldo. However, since the departure of the Portuguese superstar in 2009, no one has been able to live up to the expectations.

Owen was just a bench warmer, Valencia gave it up after only one season, Di Maria started well but then was not preferred by Van Gaal and his replacement Depay failed. Lastly, Alexis Sanchez perhaps turned out to be the worst player to wear the No. 7 shirt.

Sancho is one of the best young talents around but will he be able to perform consistently in the Premier League? Only time will tell.
