Deal imminent: Man United to sign £43million player – Journalist

Lisandro Martinez - Ajax

Manchester United have already completed their first signing of the summer by bringing in Dutch left back, Tyrell Malacia.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then United are close to completing their second signing as Lisandro Martinez is going to join from Ajax.

Transfer: Man United agree £23.4million contract to secure signing – Report

Two days ago, The Mirror revealed that the Old Trafford outfit are ready to sign the South American central defender, who is valued at £43million.

Today, as per Rudy Galetti, it is only a matter of time before the Red Devils seal the signing of the Argentine international from the Eredivisie champions.

The renowned journalist claims that just the final paperwork needs to be done and the move is expected to be officially sealed.

Being a Dutchman, it is not surprising that Erik ten Hag is looking to bring in players who excelled in the Netherlands and can fit his style of play.

I really hope that the 52-year-old coach is targeting the right players who will eventually prove to be a hit in the Premier League but I’m a little bit scared as well.

Our last Dutch boss, Louis van Gaal, lured two stars from the Eredivisie. Daley Blind arrived from Ajax and Memphis Depay joined from PSV Eindhoven.

Unfortunately, the Oranje duo, who were brilliant for the national side under LvG, failed to shine at Old Trafford and were eventually offloaded.

Defense was our weakest link last season and Ten Hag needs to solve the issues swiftly if we are to qualify for Europe’s elite competition again.
