In the summer transfer window, Manchester United splashed the cash to sign Brazilian international Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, the Samba star has so far failed to shine at Old Trafford and hence, he has mainly been a bench warmer. In such a situation, Herrera has got his chance and impressed recently.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, Herrera, who earns around £120,000-a-week, looks set to agree a new deal with the club after interim Man Utd boss, Solskjaer, convinced him that he has a future at Old Trafford.

Transfer: Man Utd have already made move to sign £90million star

In the last campaign, the former Athletic Bilbao star only started 13 games in the Premier League for United under Mourinho. Moreover, this season, he only started 6 league games in the reign of the Portuguese boss.

Fortunately, things have positively changed for him since the arrival of Solskjaer. Under his management, the Spaniard has started three of the four PL games so far.

His form has been impressive as well. In three PL starts so far under the Norwegian manager, Herrera has directly contributed in three goals (1 goal and 2 assists).

Still, in my view, the 29-year-old midfielder has never been world class for the Red Devils. Not so fast, not so creative and has not regularly contributed in goals. I think he should be replaced with a more dynamic midfielder, someone like Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey would be perfect.

In your view, should United agree new terms with Herrera?
