Manchester United’s record signing, Paul Pogba, will be out of contract in six months and it will not come as any surprise to see him leave Old Trafford on a bosman.
In that case, the Red Devils will need to sign a top-quality midfielder to replace the French international and the name of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with them for a long time. Reports in Italy indicate that Man Utd are at the forefront to finally sign the ex Genk man.
Transfer: Man Utd ready to agree signing of £17million star before deadline – Report
A few days back, Il Messagero reported that the Serbian international could finally leave Lazio in the summer transfer window and the 20-time English champions are favorites to sign the star, who is valued at 80 million euros (£67million)
Yesterday, another Italian source in the form of Corriere dello Sport (press image provided below) reported that Mateja Kezman will guide the fate of Milinkovic-Savic in the summer and Man United are always in the front row to sign him.
In the current campaign, the 26-year-old central midfielder has so far featured in 22 league games for the Serie A side, scored 7 goals and also provided 8 assists.
Central midfield is arguably the weakest department at Old Trafford and the potential departure of Pogba would not help.
In the center of the park, the likes of Fred, McTominay and veteran Matic are not good enough to make Man Utd a title-winning side. Therefore, someone like Milinkovic-Savic must be lured at the earliest.
In your opinion, should Man Utd spend £67million to sign the 28-capped midfielder in the summer?
