“Quality” attacker set to agree £35million terms to seal Man Utd move – Report

Yesterday, Manchester United put all the rumors to bed once and for all by confirming the agreement with Sporting CP for the signing of Bruno Fernandes.

The Red Devils now have to officially agree personal terms and complete medical with the Portuguese international to seal the capture before the closure of the winter transfer window.

Transfer: Man Utd aim to secure signing of forward with £118million release clause in summer

As far as the personal terms are concerned, multiple media outlets have reported that the 25-year-old is set to put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal with the Red Devils (Mirror Sport, The Guardian, The Sun).

On the other hand, The Express and The Star have reported that Fernandes will get a salary of £150,000-a-week. So if reports are anything to go by then the entire worth of the four-and-a-half year deal will be £35million.

A decent pay package but if he does end up signing the above mentioned contract then he will earn less than a few key Old Trafford stars (The Sun).

We fought hard to beat Man City last night but the victory was not enough to get us through to the final of the League Cup. Let’s hope that Fernandes will hit the ground running to improve us straightaway.

Club legend, Gary Neville, thinks that the Seleccao attacker is a quality player but he needs time to settle in the Premier League (Mirror Sport). The retired defender told Sky Sports:

“I think it’ll take him a little time in England to settle in. He’ll need some time. But they’ve got a good, quality player into the building. Ultimately we shouldn’t be sat here thinking he’s going to be amazing straight away.”

As far as Fernandes’ debut is concerned, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the attacker is fit and ready to play (MUFC). So, if the transfer (terms and medical) is finalized quickly today then it will not be shocking to see the player make his debut vs Wolves.

In my view, for the weekend’s fixture, he might not get proper time to gel with the new players and the new system. So, the manager should let the former Serie A star settle and start him after the winter break.

In your view, should Solskjaer opt to select Bruno Fernandes against Wolves?

  1. I cannot believe that you would not play him against Wolves especially with
the dross we pick time and time again. Dont you understand the three players
    (Mata.Lingard.Peirera) are completely CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Brunoooooo brilliant signing. The problem after Ferguson era is so painful TO WATCH AND BEAR. But I BLAME Alex Ferguson. He is the ONE and ONLY should be blame for MU worst season after season. 3 years before Fergie retire he should groom Gigg, Scholes, Rio to be next MU manager. Look where are we now? I have NO appetite to watch MU game nowadays. It is SO INCONSISTENT.
