Manchester United are currently linked with more than a few top quality central defenders as they look to bolster things at the back.
Few days back, ES reported that the Red Devils are considering making a move for Harry Maguire, moreover, The Sun also reported that that the Old Trafford club are battling to lure the Leicester City star, who is valued at around £60m.
However, as per the latest update provided by Mirror Sport, the United supporters should forget about the capture of Maguire because the club appear to have cooled their interest in signing him. Instead, Man Utd want priority signing of Napoli star Koulibaly, who is worth 150 million euros (£130m).

We had the second best defense in the 2017-18 campaign under the management of Mourinho. However, in the recently concluded season, our back-line was terrible and leaked goals on regular basis.
Therefore, a world class central defender must be lured, someone, who would be able to command the entire defense like Virgil van Dijk does for Liverpool.
The Dutch international has completely transformed the back-line at Anfield. Before his arrival, the Merseysiders were only competing for top four but in the recently concluded PL campaign, they seriously challenged for the title.
Liverpool had the best defensive record in the league and Van Dijk deservedly won the PFA Player of the Year award.
So, if we are going to have one marquee signing this summer then that should be of a quality central defender and Koulibaly perfectly fits the bill. In my view, Maguire is nowhere near as good as the Senegalese international.
The 27-year-old African is one of the best central defenders in the world and I believe that he would be able to transform our defense and help us finish in the top four next season.
unless we get some leaders like keane, robson, bruce, ince, Pallister we will not win anything as we need drive, people to life the team, give them direction on the pitch and 1 man will not solve United’s problems. Whilst he is good we need 5 or 6 players with skill, drive, ace, vision to revive us and cut the deadwood like Smalling, Jones, Lindy who is not robust or a leader despite people clamouring for him to be captain, young, POGBA show boater and turns up now and again so if he is wanted let him go and et people who want to perform , Matic too slow. @grahamvillis – agree with most of that. Deadwood needs out. Then one strong, positive leader who is consistent (unlike Pogba). But don’t buy huge names, start with youth, bring in more younger players, along with a couple of experienced leaders, and build up from there. So in 5 years time, we don’t have to start re-building again.
