Manchester United need to reinforce the squad but first, they must resolve the managerial situation at the club.
At the end of a dismal campaign, Erik ten Hag was able to win the FA Cup and that has perhaps put a doubt in the new owners’ minds.
As per an exclusive story covered by Le10Sport, Ineos want to hire a new head coach but finding the right fit is a concern at the moment, hence, it is possible that Ten Hag will be at Old Trafford next season.
The French source have mentioned that Man Utd are concretely moving with two managers at the moment, Gareth Southgate and Roberto de Zerbi.
As per Le10Sport, the Old Trafford outfit have taken concrete steps with the above mentioned managers.
However, Gareth Southgate, who earns around £96,000 a week, £5million a year, is currently with England for the European Championships.
On the other hand, De Zerbi, who proved to be a hit with Brighton, ‘shows himself to be greedy’.
The Italian manager had a release clause of £12m but at the end of the last campaign, the Seagulls reached a mutual agreement to end the contract and he is now free.
Southgate has not won a single trophy in his managerial career and De Zerbi only has one trophy, the Ukrainian Super Cup, which he won with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the new owners are finding it hard to make a final decision on who will manage the team next season.
In your view, should Man Utd hire the services of Gareth Southgate, De Zerbi or hold onto Ten Hag?
My honest opinion, Manunited should hold on to Erik,I am quite sure we will be challenging Man City at the top,I am not referring to top four. But first Manunited should get the recruitment of correct players for the correct position. For now Erik is a good fit.
None of the above
Southgate: Only 3 years in professional club management, got his team relegated 15 years ago. Zero relevant experience
Ten Hag: No coherent system of play, poor in game management, poor coaching skills, poor man management, self destructive media management. Delivered worst UCL campaign in United history and worst EPL era campaign. If not for the inate talents of the players in his squad likely things would have turned out far worse as stats indicate results significantly out performed performance in both of his two seasons.
De Zerbi: Journeyman manager who has had little success at the highest level and has never been tested at an elite club.
If Ineos are unable to work out a way to work with either Tuchel or Pochettino they might as well just appoint Wilcox as squad overseer (he was likely the mastermind behind the FA Cup Final win) and do away with the head coaches job altogether for the forseeable future because none of those three has the ability to rebuild a top 4 EPL squad.
Ten Hag… there’s no better coach available out there
