Man Utd have to agree £12m fee to sign manager to replace Ten Hag – Report

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

Manchester United are 17 points behind league leaders, Arsenal, and may end up failing to earn Champions League qualification for next season.

In such a scenario, Erik ten Hag’s job at Old Trafford could be in trouble and reports indicate that Roberto De Zerbi is being targeted to replace him.

As per today’s version of Sport Bild (news image provided below), the Italian coach is highly sought in Europe.

The German media outlet have mentioned that the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spanish champions, Barcelona, and Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, are specifically interested in luring the Brighton boss.

Under the guidance of De Zerbi, Sassuolo earned a place in Europe for the first time in their history.

Similarly, he also helped Brighton get European qualification for the first time and earlier this month, the Seagulls were knocked out of the Europa League (Last 16).

As per Sport Bild, the 44-year-old manager’s current contract with the Amex outfit has a release clause of around £12m (14 million euros) which can be met by the suitors to secure his signature.

Manchester United have spent a lot under Erik ten Hag and in all fairness, the team has hugely underperformed in the current campaign.

Do you think the Dutch manager deserves more time or should Man Utd pay £12m to sign Roberto de Zerbi to replace him?
