Manchester United must complete a key midfield signing to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window and time is running out.
Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara has been in the focus for some time and the latest reports suggest that Man Utd have the edge to secure his signing.
Transfer: Man Utd have offered £480,000-a-week terms to sign playmaker – Report
According to Corriere della Sera, former Old Trafford boss, Jose Mourinho, is interested in bringing the 22-year-old play breaker to improve things in the center of the park for Roma.
However, the renowned Italian news source have mentioned that Man United have the advantage to lure the young French defensive midfielder, who has been in top form for the Ligue 1 side in the current campaign.
Marseille are currently third in the table and have the best defensive record in the league. In 21 games, they have only conceded 16 goals and Kamara has been rock solid for them. The holding midfield starlet has started 15 games in the league thus far and helped the team keep no fewer than 9 clean sheets.
On the other hand, Man Utd have already let in 30 goals in 22 Premier League fixtures and have only kept 5 clean sheets this term despite bringing in several defenders to improve the squad in the past few windows.
Rangnick lacks a strong play breaker in the squad and the arrival of Boubacar Kamara could solve the conundrum. The French U-21 starlet can leave for free in the summer and he is demanding a mammoth salary of £150,000-a-week (The Sun).
To get his signing done this month, a fee of at least 10 million euros (£8.3million) would be required (Marca).
