La Roja were the best team in the recently concluded European Championship by a long distance. One of the stars of the team, despite not being a regular starter in every game was Dani Olmo, the joint top-scorer of the competition.
A diminutive playmaker who has a first touch that can leave defenders in their wake (ask Tchouameni), Olmo is criminally underrated and doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves. The 26-year-old has been a star for RB Leipzig for quite some now.

Earlier this month, AS revealed that the Red Devils are preparing to move with force to lure the former Zagreb attacker.
Now, As per SPORT, Man Utd are ‘positioning’ themselves to sign Olmo this summer and bring him to Old Trafford.
The Catalan media outlet have mentioned that Man City are ‘not a threat’ in this race and Man Utd have ‘great interest’, however, his preference is to move to Barca.
Olmo had a release clause in his contract of around €60m (£50.7m) which expired shortly after the Euros but Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist has confirmed that Leipzig would let the player leave should any interested club match the valuation.
The German club is being very fair in their valuation of the star Spaniard. For a player of Olmo’s quality, that fee is on par with what one can accept. Any club that signs the La Masia graduate will be getting a special player on their hands.
At Man Utd, Bruno Fernandes occupies the creative #10 role and is often the source of goals and assists for Erik ten Hag’s team. As brave a call as this may be, Olmo will be an upgrade on the Portuguese maestro from a creative sense.
Olmo can thread a pass through the eye of a needle and will provide Man Utd with a new dimension in attack. Both Bruno and him can play together as the Spaniard is perfectly comfortable starting from the left wing and drifting inside too.
Having an overlapping left-back like Luke Shaw could perfectly accentuate Olmo’s abilities on the left. This is a very interesting signing for Man Utd. However, the Spaniard might have other priorities and Barca may have the edge in this race.
