Reputed Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has dismissed claims that Manchester United have made a formal approach to sign Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale. The Red Devils were recently reported to have lodged a club-record £92m bid in order to persuade Los Blancos into a sale.
Bale, 28, largely struggled to make an impact for the European champions last term as injuries restricted his playing time. Overall, the forward managed nine goals and five assists during the period whilst he was relegated to the bench for Isco in the Champions League final against Juventus.
Writing on his official Twitter account, Balague has insisted that the Welshman is going ‘nowhere’ this summer whilst no offer has made by United for his services, he tweeted: “What a lot of rubbish this story about Bale and Manchester United is. He’s going nowhere this summer and no offer has been sent”.

Bale did not have the best of games in the 2-2 draw against Valencia on Sunday night, but he was booed off by the home supporters while being substituted late in the game. French striker Karim Benzema also faced a similar reaction from the faithful after he missed a couple of clear-cut chances to find the winner.
Manchester United have looked comfortable during the first three league games of the new campaign, and Mourinho will probably settle with his current squad as it is – with Zlatan Ibrahimovic likely to provide the added boost in the second half of the season.
