Hell-bent Man Utd prepared to agree over £350,000-week deal to sign star – Face competition

Koulibaly and Skriniar

The winter transfer window concluded on Friday and before its closure, Manchester United managed to lure the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Nathan Bishop and Odion Ighalo.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then already, the Red Devils are thinking about the summer transfer window and Kalidou Koulibaly is their top target.

Transfer: Man United ready £20million move to secure signing in summer – Face competition

According to an exclusive story covered by Mirror Sport, Man Utd remain hell-bent on signing the Senegalese international but face competition from clubs like PSG, Chelsea and La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

The British outlet have claimed that the African star, who is valued at around £90million, is viewed as the perfect partner of the most expensive defender in the history, Harry Maguire. It is further mentioned that the the Old Trafford club are willing to make the 28-year-old their highest paid player to get his signing done.

If we do end up paying £90million, then Koulibaly will over take Maguire to become most expensive defender in the world.

On the other hand, as far as the wages are concerned, at the moment, David De Gea is our highest earner and he gets £350,000-week (The Sun). So, reports suggest that Man Utd are prepared to agree a deal worth over £350,000-week to finally sign the Napoli superstar.

The former Genk center half is a proven quality talent, who is without doubt one of the best defenders in the world. He is the only defender, who has managed to earn a place in the Serie A Team of the Year in the past four campaigns.

Unfortunately, the Naples based club are struggling this season. Currently, the French born star is out injured and in his absence, his club has lost three of the last five league games.

At Old Trafford, even after spending a lot of cash to improve the back-line, we have regularly conceded goals and only kept 5 clean sheets in 25 fixtures this term.

Kalidou Koulibaly has the quality and experience to improve any defense in the world but he is a Champions League level footballer and at the moment, we are a Europa League team, who might once again fail to finish in the top four.

  1. Ridiculous salary for a defender and it isn’t the biggest problem Man U has…it is the other players and their salaries.Man u must sell other players 1st and bring in the younger players for experience…Man u has a rebuilding programme and will take several years so the idea of bringing in koubaly for maybe 3 or 4 years is no good for the programme fix

  2. Man United do not need a defender, what they need are good strikers. The main striker Martial has lamentably failed or the coach has failed to improve his capability. The continuous use of Martial means Man United has no other options. Right now it means we have only Rashford who can score.

  3. Man. U need to buy a striker with legs and Matial must start to warm the bench, Ole needs time to make it 👆 don’t sack instead, Woodward has to see exit first.

  4. Striking force option is what Man united should be thinking about. The same way we got Rashford at the very difficult times is the same way a striker will be be born. If teams don’t want to sell anything to Manchester United, groom your own. Two things, buy a striker from the Premier league teams or make your own like Rashford. The problem at Manchester United is the attitude not quality.

  5. Why buying a defender when we have a problem with strikers,Martial is a winger not number 9,and people are blaming him not to be scoring when idiots like Pereira can’t give him the balls but they are claiming to be good attacking midfielders, the other problems we have are the full back,Wan Bissaka can’t cross the balls and that makes our team to be dead,if you have no crosses how can Martial score?
