How Man Utd would line up with £114million signings – Best XI

Rashford Sancho

Manchester United ripped Leeds United apart 5-1 in the opening Premier League fixture of the new campaign and they did that without marquee signings Sancho and Varane in the starting XI.

Before the game, the Red Devils were able to unveil Varane, whose signing was delayed for some time and soon we would be seeing him in action.

Transfer: Offer made – Man United prepared to secure £21.3million playmaker’s exit

The Old Trafford outfit paid a fee of £73million to hire the services of the England attacker from Borussia Dortmund (Sky Sports) and agreed a deal worth £41million to secure the signature of the French defender from Real Madrid this summer (Sky Sports).

The question is, how would Man Utd line up with their £114million signings?

Jadon Sancho can effectively play on either flank but naturally, he likes to play on the right flank. Yesterday, against the Elland Road outfit, the Three Lions star was brought on in the 75th minute to feature on the right-wing.

So, we can expect him to partner the likes of Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford in the attack behind the lone center forward. Pogba played on the left side in the absence of Rashford but when the England international is fit, he should be the first choice and the Les Bleus midfielder must play in the center of the park with Fred or McTominay (if Ole does not sign a new midfielder).

Cavani should soon return to action and when he does, the Uruguayan must start in the center forward position ahead of the likes of Greenwood and Martial.

Raphael Varane is one of the best and decorated defenders in the world. The 28-year-old would likely start with skipper Harry Maguire in the central defense.

Wan-Bissaka and Shaw must start in the fullback positions and Dean Henderson, when fit, would probably replace De Gea to play in the goal. Here is how Man Utd would line up with Sancho and Varane:
