Lately, multiple reports coming from Italy have suggested that Kim Min-Jae is set to join Manchester United and today is no different.
According to Calcio Mercato, Man United will activate the exit clause worth 60 million euros to sign the South Korean central defender from Napoli in July.
Transfer: Man Utd submit just £50m bid to sign £80m player
The news source claim that after multiple meeting with the player’s agent, the Red Devils have tabled a contract worth 7 million euros per season i.e. around £116,000-a-week.
It is stated that Kim is ready to secure the £116,000-a-week deal to join Man United in the summer transfer window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 20-time English champions have been tracking the Asian star for a long time and are favorites to hire his services. The renowned journalist told GiveMeSport:
“United know that they are ahead of the other clubs for Kim, because they started this process in October and November. So Man United remain interested in Kim.”
Man Utd already have two World Cup winners in the form of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez in their central defense.
The duo regularly started under the guidance of Erik ten Hag and impressed big time. On the other hand, Min-Jae was arguably the best defender in the Serie A and without him Napoli would not have won the title.
Calcio Mercato claim the Naples based side are already looking to replace the former Turkish Super Lig star at the club.
The 26-year-old may or may not get straight into the starting lineup at Old Trafford but he surely has the quality to largely reinforce the backline.
