Manchester United are close to signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, much to the despair of Italian giants, AC Milan.
As per today’s version of Libero (news image provided below), the headline states, ‘Milan loses Zirkzee’.

The famous Italian media outlet claim that talks with the Rossoneri have been interrupted and the player’s agent is now ‘close to an agreement’ with United.
The Dutch international was always the first choice striker signing to replace Olivier Giroud but the Serie A side are now seeing the Bologna striker move to the Red Devils.
Milan were willing to activate the 40 million euros clause in player’s contract, however, they did not accept the commissions requested by the Dutchman’s agent, Kia Joorabchian.
Even Zirkzee was prepared to move to the San Siro but with the deal frozen, he started to look elsewhere and ‘found’ Man Utd, who have come forward to secure his signing.
The Old Trafford outfit have no problems in paying the release clause and satisfying the commission fee of his representative.
As per Libero, the most ‘disconcerting’ aspect for Milan is now they are eyeing the signing of an alternative, which is none other than former United striker, Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea are asking for a fee of 40 million euros, an amount the Italians are willing to pay for 23-year-old Zirkzee but definitely not for the 31-year-old Belgian.
