Kalvin-Phillips-England-and-Leeds

Manchester United must strengthen things in the center, they have been linked with Kalvin Phillips for a long time but the latest reports suggest that a rival club is preparing a move for him.

Few months ago, The Star exclusively reported that the Red Devils are keen on signing the £60m-rated Leeds United star but Liverpool are also interested in hiring his services.

Now, as per a report covered by El Nacional, Liverpool are readying an offer worth 40 million euros to sign the England international from the Elland Road outfit.

However, the Spanish news outlet have mentioned that the Merseysiders would fail in their pursuit of the 26-year-old midfielder because the Whites would prefer to sell him abroad to Real Madrid, who are also chasing his signature.

Man Utd do not have a specialist defensive midfielder who can also perform the role of a deep-lying playmaker effectively. Therefore, someone like Kalvin Phillips, who can break play and pull the strings while sitting in front of the back four, would be a top addition.

The Three Lions star has already proved to be an important player for the national side under the management of Gareth Southgate and he has been a fantastic player under Leeds boss Bielsa.

In all fairness, if the Whites are not ready to sell their prized asset to Liverpool then they would surely not want the player to go to Man Utd because of the bitter rivalry.

Nevertheless, United definitely need a player like Phillips and if there is even a slight chance that we can get him then we should splash the cash and secure his signature. What do you think?
