Rangnick agrees £33million fee to sign star for Man Utd – Report

Ralf Rangnick - German manager

Manchester United continue to struggle in the Premier League and last night, they let slip a two goal lead against Aston Villa.

The Red Devils desperately need to reinforce the squad in order to push for Champions League qualification but reports indicate that the management is not prepared to back Ralf Rangnick.

News – Man Utd lead to agree signing – £50million was demanded in summer

According to a story covered by The Mirror, the German manager wants to strengthen things in the center of the park and Mali international, Amadou Haidara, is his prime target for the winter transfer window.

The renowned British media outlet have mentioned that RB Leipzig are open to selling the African midfielder and Rangnick has even verbally agreed a fee worth £33million with his former club to sign the player for Man Utd.

However, the Old Trafford hierarchy are in no hurry to provide Rangnick the funds to improve the squad because he will be replaced with a permanent manager in the summer. The decision has left the interim coach annoyed and rightly so.

At the moment, Man Utd are 7th in the table, a point behind Spurs who have two games in hand, three points behind Gunners and five behind West Ham, who have played a game more and currently occupy the final CL qualification spot.

Therefore, Rangnick must be backed in the transfer market to strengthen the squad or else, if the issues are not resolved then it is highly likely that the Red Devils will fail to finish the season in the top four.

Haidara is an energetic player, who can effectively be deployed in the central and defensive midfield positions. The 25-year-old has netted 3 goals in 18 appearances for Leipzig this term and currently, he is with the national side taking part in the AFCON.

In your opinion, should Man Utd allow Rangnick to seal £33million signing of Amadou Haidara this month?

  1. Defence has been a joke with maguire and holding the captancy. there has been an improvement in his absence. he needs to be kept there. HOWEVER WE NEED TO IMPROVE THE MIDFIELD. I say allow him to buy one. Even though he has a few months. Cause our chances of making top 4 has been slipping. Our midfield is just not good enough.(inconsistent)
