According to The Mirror (news image provided below), Man United have agreed a contract that will make the Samba winger earn £200,000 a week, £52million in the next five years.
Antony has been Erik ten Hag’s primary target to improve the attacking department and after getting multiple bids rejected, the Dutch manager has finally got his man.
Under the guidance of the 52-year-old coach, the 22-year-old impressed big time and won two Eredivisie titles in as many years. The big question is, will he be a hit at Old Trafford?
Last year, Man United splashed the cash to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but the England international struggled and only managed to score 5 goals in his first season with the club.
Over the years, wingers like Salah, Mane, Mahrez, Sterling regularly scored and created goals for their respective clubs in the PL. The Red Devils need similar contributions from their wingers if they are to challenge for the title.
Antony achieved double figures in terms of both goals scored and assists provided last term and if he can replicate the form at Man Utd then the team will excel.
Have your say – Do you think the young Brazilian can justify the £85.5million price tag?
