Man Utd bid strongest to sign £146,000 a week Liverpool target – Report

Marco Asensio

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United bid the strongest to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid.

As per a story covered by Cadena Ser, the Los Blancos star has been linked with a move away from the club all summer long but he might end up staying.

Transfer: £360,000 a week star pressing to agree Chelsea move – Report

The Spanish news source have mentioned the 26-year-old playmaker also received a proposal from Italy but Man Utd were the ones to submit the strongest bid worth 33 million euros.

Asensio, who will be free to leave next summer and earns around £146,000 a week (via Paisley Gates), has also been on the radar of Liverpool.

However, Cadena Ser claim that except for last minute surprises, the La Roja attacker is expected to stay at the Bernabeu and will likely play a bit part role again under Ancelotti.

The 29-capped international has won huge prizes with Real Madrid but unfortunately, he has never been a regular starter for the La Liga giants.

Last season, the former Mallorca loanee made 42 appearances in all competitions but only started 24 games. This season, so far, he has only made a single appearance and featured for just 7 minutes.

Asensio clearly needs to leave to play regular first team football at club level, which would eventually help him earn a place in Luis Enrique’s squad for the World Cup.

The Spaniard can effectively play on the right flank and in the central attacking midfield role and has got a rocket of a left foot. In your view should Man Utd move in to secure his signing?
