Manchester United are heavily linked with Cody Gakpo and Antony as Ten Hag looks to strengthen his attack before the transfer deadline ends in a week.
As per a report covered by Football Insider, Man United have readied a (take it or leave it) bid worth £25million to sign the Dutch international from PSV Eindhoven.
Last night, the Eredivisie giants were beaten by Rangers and therefore, they will not take part in the Champions League group stages this term. The result has boosted United’s chances of signing the 23-year-old winger.
However, in my view, for multiple reasons, a bid of £25million would likely be rejected by the Dutch club.
It must be taken into consideration that Gakpo performed better than Antony in the last campaign. He scored more goals and provided more assists than the Brazilian.
The Oranje star was named the Dutch Footballer of the Year, on the other hand, Antony was not even the best player at Ajax and missed the last couple of months due to injury.
Still, reports indicate that the Red Devils could end up offering £84million to lure the Samba star. So, £25million should really not be enough to sign Gakpo from PSV. What do you think?
As per a recent story published by Eindhovens Dagblad, a deal worth £50.6million is demanded by PSV to allow their prized asset to leave this summer.
