Even after luring Donny van de Beek, reports suggest that Manchester United are interested in luring another midfielder in the form of Uros Racic.
As per an exclusive story published by The Sun yesterday, the Red Devils are considering making a move to sign the Serbian international from Valencia this summer.
The media outlet have claimed that the 22-year-old has got a release clause of £92million in his contract but due to the ongoing financial crisis, the La Liga side might have to sell him for cheap and £28million could be enough to bring him to Old Trafford.
Racic has only played 2 senior games for Valencia and his current contract with the Spanish club will expire in 2022. At the weekend, he only featured for 18 minutes in the opening league game win over Levante (4-2).
In the last campaign, the former Red Star Belgrade midfielder played on loan for Portuguese side Famalicao and helped them finish 6th in the Primeira Liga. In all competitions, the youngster started 32 games, scored 3 goals and provided one assist.
The Sun report that the Raciic has been dubbed as the ‘new Nemanja Matic’ and he has the defensive power to replace his compatriot at Old Trafford.
At Old Trafford, the Red Devils have ample quality and depth in the midfield but in all fairness, we really lack a specialist play breaker. Matic turned 32 last month and he is clearly past his best.
We need a quality defensive midfielder to provide a strong cover in front of the back-line. In such a scenario, do you think that Man United should splash £28million to sign Uros Racic from the Los Che?
