Man Utd have probably agreed terms to sign £30million star – Face competition

Thiago Spanish midfielder

Manchester United have already strengthened their midfield by signing Donny van de Beek but they are also linked with another top midfielder in the form of Thiago Alcantara.

The Spanish international will be out of contract in less than a year and has told Bayern Munich that he wants to leave. Apart from the Red Devils, Liverpool are reportedly looking to get his signing done.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to agree four year contract to secure signing of £27.7million player – Face competition

As per an update provided by former Bayern president Uli Hoeness, the 29-year-old has probably agreed terms with Manchester United and Liverpool but the PL duo have not lodged any bid for the La Roja star as yet.

The two arch rivals are perhaps hoping to move late in the window in order to lure Thiago for cheap.

The legendary German told Sport1:

“Thiago had a great offer with us for four years. A few days later he said that he was looking for a big challenge. Apparently he is in agreement with Liverpool and Manchester United. The clubs have not yet approached Bayern. It’s not a style, they want to blackmail us.”

As per reports going on in the media (The AthleticThe Independent), the former Barcelona star could cost around £30million.

Bayern deservedly won the Champions League last month and the Italian born midfielder was consistently brilliant for them. He was simply outstanding in the final against Paris Saint-Germain and initiated the move that led to the winning goal.

The major question, do Manchester United need to sign Thiago Alcantara?

Just to infuriate Livrepool, the idea may seem nice but with the addition of the Spaniard, Solksjaer will have an overcrowded midfield department.

The Norwegian manager has mainly utilized a 4-2-3-1 formation at Old Trafford and the No.10 position is reserved for Bruno Fernandes. So, he has senior players like Fred, McTominay, Matic, Pogba and new signing Van De Beek to fight for the two midfield positions.

In my view, there is no need for Man Utd to further reinforce the midfield department because they have ample quality and depth in the center of the park. Also, they still have not signed anyone to improve their attack this summer and Solskjaer should focus on signing a top winger/striker.

  1. Now united board can jubilate, what a failure the club fail on saturday, and failed fans, lie that sancho is their top priority, fail to sign players. Am done with united

  2. I am afraid that MU will be out of the top four by end of the season.
We need a saviour to prevent that. So hurry up get Jadon Sancho right away. He is the saviour. What are you waiting for Ed?

  3. Dotmond i will say are smart. I admire what liverpool are doing. With covid liverpool are willing to raise €150m for mbappe. They are going to offer their top stars, mo salah, mane, and firmino to purchase mbappe. United failed to use this method to fund for sancho. How are united going to land mbappe in old trafort when they failed to sign their top target.

  4. Real madrid are on the verge of signing a player worth €120m right now. And how did they achieve this, they sold out high profile players to fund it. United should know that failing to sign sancho now, next summer united will have rivals. Can united stand with the likes of liverpool, real madrid. Ex players urged united to get sancho but ar scared of bvb price. But united can still get him now if the board can get serious.

  5. I believe united can still win sancho. I will comment just two options if the board will accept. United should reserve €90m, then smalling’s bid which is €15m, should be added which the total equals to €105m, then raise €3m it will in total €108m. With this united can tempt dotmond and they will sucum to your wish.

  6. United should go ahead and sign Sancho,Grealish if only we need to compete the top four because we ALL are seeing what other top four clubs are doing this summer.
