France-Nkunku

Manchester United have been linked with French international and RB Leipzig playmaker, Christopher Nkunku, for a while and the latest reports are intriguing.

Transfer: Favorites Man Utd ready bid to sign £66.7million star – Report

Yesterday, Florian Plettenberg claimed that Man United have already made contact and held talks to sign the Les Bleus attacker, who has been in fantastic form for Leipzig in the current campaign.

The Sky Germany journalist has stated that the Old Trafford outfit want to sign the 24-year-old star but he claims that for now, there are a lot of options at the club.

Nkunku has scored and created goals for fun this term. So far, he has featured in 42 games for the Bundesliga side and directly contributed in no fewer than 46 goals (28 goals and 18 assists).

The former Paris Saint-Germain star, who is rated at £62million (ESPN), has mainly excelled in the No.10 role for the German club. At Man United, we have the irreplaceable Bruno Fernandes in that position.

On the other hand, it must be remembered that Donny van de Beek is expected to return and with Ten Hag set to be appointed as manager, the Dutchman could be given the chance that he deserves.

Nkunku is a top talent but there is no guarantee that he will shine in the Premier League. Sancho netted goals week in week out in the Bundesliga but has not been able to replicate such form since returning to England.

Have your say – Should Man Utd spend £62million to sign the French playmaker?

  1. It is not bad to sign him, because if you take a look at man city’s team, you’ll definitely see that they have two to three players playing on the same position, for example, they had Raheem sterling and Phil foden on the left wing when they brought in jack grelish, they also had Leroy sane and Bernardo silver when they brought in rihad Mahrez, and also they had kun aguero when they brought in Gabriel Jesus. So what I’m saying in essence is that we need competition in the team, which is if one losses his form he needs to be on the bench cos another person is to fill up the gap, likewise when one has an injury. I don’t see any reason why a player should play totally nonsense just like what harry Maguire is doing and he’s being used all the time. So my point is that we need more good players who can compete with and replace each other in the team, instead of depending on one player who can flop at anytime.
