Man Utd attempting to sign £35million player this month – Report

Marcos Llorente Spain

Manchester United needed to reinforce their midfield department in the summer transfer window but Solskjaer failed to do so.

Remember that we lost Fellaini in the winter transfer window of last year and Herrera was allowed to leave for free in the summer. Furthermore, our star midfielders McTominay and Pogba are out injured.

Transfer: Man Utd expected to agree £26million contract & seal signing in days – Report

So, the Old Trafford club should improve their midfield department as soon as possible and as per latest reports, the Red Devils are linked with Atletico Madrid’s Marcos Llorente.

According to Manchester Everning News, Man Utd are attempting to complete a loan move for the Spanish international, who joined the Rojiblancos in the summer for a fee of £35million.

The 24-year-Old is mainly a defensive midfielder and he was mostly warming the bench at the Bernabeu because Real Madrid have a world class holding midfield star in the form of Casemiro, who regularly starts for the European giants.

Unforunately, Llorente has been unable to get regular game time with Atletico under the management of Simeone. The Argentine boss has got ample quality and depth in the midfield with stars like Saul, Partey, Koke and Herrera around.

In such a situation, so far, the Spaniard has made 15 appearances in all competitions for the Rojiblancos, however, he has only managed to start on 3 occasions. In total, he has only played for 368 minutes (Transfermarkt).

We do need a defensive midfielder because Serbian international Matic is past his best but in your view, should we move in to temporary sign a play-breaker like Marcos Llorente, who has not played a lot of first team football in the past couple of seasons?
