Man United in battle to sign £85million attacker – Report

Leon Bailey

Manchester United signed Bruno Fernandes to strengthen their attack in the winter transfer window but it must be remembered that the Red Devils have not adequately replaced Sanchez and Lukaku as yet.

Therefore, the offensive department must further be reinforced in the summer transfer window and the Old Trafford outfit are linked with a Jamaican starlet.

Transfer: £15million star ready to agree terms to seal Manchester United move on permanent basis

According to The Express, Man United are in a battle with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool to sign Leon Bailey, who could cost around £85million.

The 22-year-old was mainly impressive in the 2017-18 campaign for Bayer Leverkusen but in the past year and a half, his performances have not been up to the mark.

As far as the current campaign, is concerned, so far, the North American attacker has netted 7 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions but the German club have mainly used him as a substitute. He has only started 10 games this term so far.

It must be noted that Bailey has missed 8 fixtures (all competitions) due to muscle related injuries this term and 5 Bundesliga games due to red card suspensions.

I think the above mentioned price tag of £85million is way too much for someone, who is not consistent, has warmed the bench more often than not and has got some serious disciplinary concerns as well.

Therefore, Man United should look to ignore Leon Bailey and instead focus on signing a proven quality winger like Jadon Sancho, who is without doubt one of the best attackers in the German league.
