Man United made huge bid to sign £255,000-a-week playmaker – Report

Felix Ronaldo Portugal

Back in 2019, Atletico Madrid sold Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona and hired the services of Joao Felix from Benfica in order to replace the French star.

The Portuguese international is mainly a secondary striker, who likes to operate behind the main center forward, and he quickly became a hit under the management of Diego Simeone.

Transfer: Almost done – Man Utd to secure £43million signing – Latest today

According to a report covered by Mundo Deportivo today (news image provide below), several clubs have been after the former Liga Nos playmaker.

The Spanish source claim that Barca proposed a swap deal involving Griezmann to sign the 21-year-old but the offer was turned down by the Rojiblancos. It is further stated that Man Utd made a huge bid to sign the starlet but the move was also rejected by the La Liga side.

In the last campaign, the young Selecao player warmed the bench more often than not because the Argentine boss preferred the likes of Suarez, Correa and Carrasco in his attack. Felix only managed to start 14 league games but MD claim that he is still an important member of the squad at the Wanda Metropolitano.

At the European Championships, the £255,000-a-week attacker (The Sun) did not even start a single game under Fernando Santos and only featured for 34 minutes in the R16 defeat against Belgium.

At Old Trafford, Man Utd already have a world class player in the form of Bruno Fernandes, who mainly plays in the No.10 role behind the striker.

The former Sporting man is irreplaceable in the starting XI and therefore, Ole does not really need to sign Joao Felix. What do you think?

  1. No,No,No,No Do not want Griezeman. He has flopped at Barca and now they are trying their best to offload his wages from their wage-bill. Tough. You gave him this stupid contract you can live with it.
