Manchester United comfortably defeated Norwich away from home despite missing two penalty kicks in the first half.
Goals from McTominay, Rashford and Martial were enough to earn all three points for the Old Trafford club but they failed to keep the clean sheet.
Transfer: Man Utd positive they’ll secure signing of £80million playmaker next year – Report
The Red Devils were 14th in the table at the start of the weekend and after the victory against the Canaries, they are 7th in the table, 7 points behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.
Here are Manchester United player ratings vs Norwich City:
David De Gea – 6
The Spanish international did not have much to do in the game but made a decent save to preserve clean sheet before half time. However, poor defending from the United players eventually ruined his evening in the 88th minute.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7
This might be the first time I have seen Wan-Bissaka doing good in the attacking third for United. He was sharp and quick but was shown a yellow card for a heavy tackle.
Victor Lindelof – 6.5
Had a shaky start to the game but eventually improved.
Harry Maguire – 7
The most expensive defender in the world was impressive in leading the back-line for Man United but he was way too relaxed in the final minutes of the game which allowed Hernandez ease past the defense and ruin United’s clean sheet.
Ashley Young – 6
The veteran did well at the back and provided support in the attacking third. He was booked for a dangerous tackle in the second half.
Fred – 7
Probably his best game for Man United. Did not give the ball away cheaply, won a penalty and did well in the defensive third as well.
Scott McTominay – 8
The 22-year-old midfielder is consistently improving under the guidance of Solskjaer and was brilliant vs Norwich in the center of the park. The youngster opened the scoring for United and helped them dominate the midfield battle.
Daniel James – 8
The Welsh international won a penalty for the Red Devils but it was wasted. Then, he provided a superb ball to Marcus Rashford, who doubled United’s lead.
Andreas Pereira – 7
Combined well with United’s wide players and pulled the strings in the No.10 role.
Rashford – 8
His spot kick was saved by Krul but two minutes later, he found the net from open play. The speedy star provided a quality assist for United’s third goal.
Martial – 9
The French international’s penalty was also saved by Krul but he made amends and scored in the second half with a sublime chip to make it 3-0. Martial was too fast and troubled Norwich’s back-line the entire game.
Subs – Greenwood, Lingard and Garner – 5
The trio were brought onto the field when United were three goals up and they did not make any positive or negative impact.
