Man United prepare £56million move to sign £63million attacker

Solskjaer Wan-Bissaka MUFC

Manchester United continue to be linked with Sporting CP attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes and the latest reports are intriguing.

According to Record, Man Utd are preparing a move worth 62 million euros (£56million) to sign the Portuguese international in the summer transfer window.

The issue is that the above mentioned offer might not be enough to secure the signing of the 24-year-old attacker.

Transfer: Report – Man Utd hottest on the chase, £72million enough to get signing done

Frederico Varandas has recently claimed (RTP) that 62 million euros would not be enough to lure the Seleccao star. The president of the Primeira Liga club also claimed that if Fernandes leaves, then the team will be reinforced with quality players.

As far as the price tag is concerned, earlier this month, renowned Portuguese outlet, Correio da Manha, reported that Varandas wants 70 million euros (£63million) for Sporting CP’s prized asset.

Bruno Fernandes scored 32 goals in all competitions last season, more than the combined sum of goals scored by our two main strikers i.e. Lukaku and Rashford.

The former Serie A attacker helped Sporting CP win two cup titles and he directly contributed in 50 goals in all competitions in the last campaign. Not to forget, he was a key member of the Portuguese team that won the inaugural UEFA Nations League last month.

Fernandes plays in the central attacking midfield role and in that position, we do not have a natural top quality player, therefore, he would be a top addition.

So far, Solskjaer has only lured Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James this summer but the Norwegian manager must further strengthen the squad before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

We have done well in the pre-season so far. The Red Devils have won all their pre-season fixtures this summer without conceding a single goal and next up, we will face Spurs on Thursday.
