Man United prepare offer to sign £50million playmaker – Report

Old Trafford

Manchester United have already signed Malacia and Martinez from the Netherlands to improve their defense. Now, reports indicate that they are looking at the Eredivisie to strengthen the attack as well.

According to The Daily Record, Man Utd are preparing an offer to hire the services of Cody Gakpo, who is valued at £50million by PSV Eindhoven.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to pay more than £68million and huge wages for signing – Waiting for breakdown with club

The news source have mentioned that the Dutch giants expect to receive bids from the Red Devils and the Gunners but they want to hold on to the player for the upcoming Champions League fixtures.

PSV and Rangers will collide in the CL Play-Off with the first leg to take place on 16th August and the second leg will be held on 24th August.

Gakpo is one of the most important members of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s squad and it is not surprising that the Man Utd legend wants him available for the all important clash.

The delay would not suit Ten Hag, who has already lost his first competitive game in-charge of the club.

The 23-year-old star is a versatile playmaker, he can effectively play in multiple offensive positions but mainly, he is deployed on the left flank.

Last season, the 7-capped international featured in 46 games for PSV and directly contributed in 36 goals (21 goals and 15 assists). In the current campaign, so far, in 4 appearances, he has already netted 3 goals and provided a couple of assists.

Man Utd do need to improve the wide attacking positions. Last term, Sancho was the top scoring left winger and he only netted 5 goals. On the other hand, Greenwood was the top scoring right winger and he is not available.

In your view, should Ten Hag offer £50million to sign Cody Gakpo?
