We are covering a rumor on Bruno Fernandes after quite some time now that there is a key update in the transfer saga.

Transfer: £85million star now ready to secure Man Utd move

Now, reports in Portugal (Correio da Manha) suggest that the president of Sporting CP met with the sporting director of Manchester City this week and the transfer of the Seleccao attacking midfielder, who is valued at 70 million euros (£63million), was discussed.

The renowned Portuguese outlet have claimed that because of the good relations between Sporting and Man City, the PL champions could return to charge to sign Fernandes, however, for now, Manchester United are leading the race to sign the 24-year-old star, who is still on Tottenham’s radar as well.

In the last PL campaign, champions Manchester City scored 95 goals and runners up Liverpool netted 89 goals. On the other hand, Man United only managed to score 65 goals.

So, in order to challenge the best of teams next season, Solskajer needs attacking players, who can regularly score and create goals. In such a scenario, Bruno Fernandes would be a quality addition.

In all competitions, the Portuguese star featured in 53 games for the Primeira Liga club last season and directly contributed in 50 goals (38 goals and 12 assists).

Fernandes helped Sporting CP win two cup titles in the last campaign and last month, he helped Portugal win the UEFA Nations League.
