Man United told £90.5million would get striker signing done – Journalist

Raul Jimenez Mexico and Wolves striker

Manchester United have been linked with Raul Jimenez and the latest reports are intriguing.

Earlier this month, we covered a report (via Mirror Sport) claiming that the Mexican international could move to Old Trafford this summer and also stated (via Tutto Sport) that he is valued at around 60 million euros.

However, as per the latest update provided by Duncan Castles, 60 million euros will not be enough to sign the striker from Wolves. Instead, Man Utd would have to pay a mammoth fee of 100 million euros (£90.5million) to get his signing done.

The renowned journalist said on Transfer Window Podcast:

“Wolves want to make it clear that that is impossible (to lure him for €60m. They value the player at €100m, that’s their asking price.”

The question is, should Man United meet the asking price of £90.5million to secure the signature of the in form striker?

Before the suspension of the Premier League in March, Jimenez directly contributed in 19 goals (13 goals and 6 assists) in 29 league appearances under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Since the resumption of the campaign, the 29-year-old striker has netted 2 goals in as many appearances to help his side earn maximum points. Yesterday, he scored a sublime headed goal against Bournemouth.

We do need to improve the strike-force in the summer because we have not adequately replaced Romelu Lukaku as yet. Martial did score the first hat-trick of his career vs Sheffield yesterday but the French international is not an out and out center forward.

In your view, who should Man United sign to strengthen their strike-force in the summer?
