Transfer: Report – Man Utd pressing to secure signing of £89.6million midfielder
At the moment, Matic is our first choice defensive midfielder. The Serbian international was inconsistent last season and failed to provide a solid cover in front of the back four.
The former Benfica star will turn 31 next month, he is slow and past his best and in my view, Solskjaer should sell and replace him.
As far as Bakayoko is concerned, the Les Bleus midfielder was impressive for Monaco in their title winning 2016-17 campaign.
In 2017, Chelsea hired his services when Italian boss Antonio Conte was in charge of the club. The French international arrived to replace Matic at Stamford Bridge but after a torrid season, he was loaned out to AC Milan last year.
Last season, the £110,000-a-week (The Star) player was solid in the holding midfield role for AC Milan, who finished 5th in the table. In 26 league starts, Bakayoko helped the Rossoneri keep 12 clean sheets. Moreover, the seven time European champions had the third best defensive record in the Serie A.
Now, the 24-year-old midfielder has returned to the London based club, who have recently appointed a new manager in the form of Frank Lampard and a decision on his future will be made soon (RMC Sport).
In your opinion, should United sign Bakayoko to replace Matic?
