Report – Man Utd pressing to secure signing of £89.6million midfielder

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Lazio

At the moment, Manchester United are linked with a few quality midfielders mainly because record signing Pogba is linked with a move away from the club. Recently, super agent Mino Raiola confirmed that the French international wants to leave Old Trafford (The Times).

Yesterday, we covered a report (via AS) claiming that the PL giants have made contact to lure Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid. Now, another name is in the lime light.

Transfer: Man Utd ready move – Player now valued at over £50million

The Red Devils were linked with Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic last year and now the Lazio star is in the focus again.

According to Sport Mediaset, Manchester United are pressing to hire the services of the 24-year-old star in the summer transfer window.

The renowned Italian outlet have reported that a year ago, Lazio were looking to get a fee of 120 million euros for their prized asset. Now, after a not so good campaign, the Serie A side would like to get 100 million euros (£89.6million) for the midfielder but they might have to settle for just 80 million euros.

The central/attacking midfielder directly contributed in 15 goals in 33 league starts in the 2017-18 campaign. However, last season, his form dipped and in 29 league starts, he directly contributed in just 8 goals.

Former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman, who played under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, is now the agent of the Serbian midfielder. Our former boss wanted Milinkovic-Savic (The Sun) but was sacked last year. Can Solskjaer get his signing done? We shall see.

I’ve always believed that we should not keep a player against his will and the same goes for Pogba. The French international has got world class quality but unfortunately, for us, he has been far too inconsistent.

Now that he wants to leave, he should be allowed to go and Solskjaer must sign a quality replacement. In your view, should United lure Niguez or Milinkovic-Savic?
