As per reports in the South American media, the Old Trafford outfit were also looking to lure Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

According to Diario Extra (via Paisley Gates) Manchester United and Liverpool wanted to agree the signing of the Ecuadorian international in the summer transfer window.

However, the Seagulls boss, Graham Potter, had no intensions to sell the club’s prized asset after already losing a key midfielder in the form of Yves Bissouma.

With the departure of the Mali international, Caicedo has been running things in the center of the park. Not only can he press and break play, he also runs with the ball to help the attack.

Back in May, the 20-year-old scored a goal in the 4-0 victory against Man United and this term, in the opening Premier League fixture, he was fantastic in the 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

In 6 PL games so far this season, Caicedo has helped Brighton keep three clean sheets and yesterday, he found the net in the 5-2 win over Leicester City.

Recently, manager, Graham Potter claimed that the South American midfielder is a ‘top’ player, who would cost around £100million (The Daily Mail).

We do have a world class play breaker in the form of Casemiro but the Brazilian is yet to get his first start for the club and will turn 31 in a few months. Moises Caicedo is the future, should we move to sign him in the next transfer window?
