Manchester United failed to win yet another game against Fenerbahce last night, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
This means that Erik ten Hag’s team have managed to secure just four wins across all competitions so far this season.
News – Man Utd prepared to finally secure £200,000 a week player exit – Report
With all the uncertainty surrounding the club, Erik ten Hag’s future is in limbo. The Dutch coach is a lucky man to have survived such a horrendous start to the season and we covered a story yesterday that Man Utd were looking at replacements like Xavi Hernandez.
Despite the managerial uncertainty, Manchester United continue to work towards securing transfer targets.
With that in mind, they have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies who will be a free agent next summer.
Now, as per Football Insider, Manchester United are willing to strike a deal to try and bring him to Old Trafford despite obvious interest from Real Madrid. The Red Devils are extremely optimistic in thinking they can get this deal done.
Davies currently earns around £132,000 a week at Bayern Munich. Should he move to another club as a free agent, he would definitely demand a hefty wage and probably a significant signing bonus and the Red Devils might not be able to match Real Madrid in this regard.
From a sporting perspective, it is not even a comparison. Man United, continuing in the same vein, will not even get European football next season and moving from Bayern would be such a huge downgrade for Davies.
Despite the obvious interest, it looks extremely unlikely that Alphonso Davies will even consider a move to Man United. We would like to be surprised but let’s wait and see how it pans out.
