Multiple sources in Italy have covered stories today on Manchester United’s interest in signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Earlier in the day, we covered a report via Corriere dello Sport stating that the Red Devils are ready to agree a fee of more than £34million (clause) to sign the Netherlands forward.

Another article on the subject has been published by Corriere di Bologna (news image provided below), they claim Man Utd and Arsenal are “above all” pushing to sign Zirkzee.

As per the news source, the young striker is being courted by AC Milan as well but Man Utd and the Gunners are leading the race. On the other hand, Bayern have an option to re-sign him for 40 million euros.

During the week, La Gazzetta Dello Sport revealed that for clubs other than the Bavarians, the “price is free” and Bologna value him as high as £68.4million (80 million euros).

Zirkzee’s top form in the current season has not gone unnoticed and lately, Stefan Pioli, heavily praised him.

The Rossoneri boss, who is currently facing Bologna in the Serie A stated:

“I already followed him when he was at Bayern and Parma, now he is much more complete and stays more involved in the match.”

Man Utd have not been able to replace legendary strikers like Ronaldo and Cavani. Martial is out injured and highly inconsistent when fit.

On the other hand, Hojlund has thus far failed to prove his worth since moving to Old Trafford for £68.4million from Atalanta in the summer.

In such a situation, should Man Utd now bid to sign Joshua Zirkzee?
