Man Utd have agreed a deal worth £8.3million a year with Branthwaite, who will multiply his salary by four times to move to Old Trafford.

According to The Times, the Red Devils have reached an agreement over a contract that will make the English center half earn around £160,000 a week, £8.3million a year.

Branthwaite’s current deal at Everton makes him earn around £40,000 a week and a move to Man Utd is set to 4x his wages.

Convincing the player was the easy part, the main dilemma for the 20-time English champions is to agree a fee with the Toffees.

As per The Times, the Goodison Park outfit are demanding a fee worth £70million for the 21-year-old defender.

On the other hand, as per BBC, Everton want an amount of £80million for Branthwaite, the fee that Man Utd paid to agree a deal for Harry Maguire five years ago.

United have financial constraints and are only willing to offer around £50million to prize the player away from the Merseysiders.

Everton have economic problems of their own but they would be aware of United’s habit of paying over the odds for signings and will likely not budge from their valuation.

The question is, how big should Man Utd bid to agree a deal with the Toffees for Branthwaite?
