Man Utd are favorites to secure £70million+ signing in summer – Report

Wilfried Zaha Man Utd

Manchester United signed Wilfried Zaha when Alex Ferguson was in charge of the club. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to shine at Old Trafford.

David Moyes opted to loan the attacker in the January transfer window of 2014, eight months later, he moved to Crystal Palace and since then, the Ivorian international has been with the London based club.

Transfer: Man Utd will offer £43million to sign £80,000-a-week playmaker in January – Report

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are favorites to re-sign him in the summer transfer window.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, the Red Devils are leading the race to secure the signing of Zaha in a deal worth more than £70million.

The African star only made four senior appearances for Manchester United, who believe that a more experienced Zaha can thrive at Old Trafford. In such a scenario, the 20-time English champions are prepared to pay the huge fee that the Eagles would demand (The Sun).

Last season, the £130,000-a-week star (The Guardian) was in sensational form for Palace under the management of Roy Hodgson. In 34 league appearances, he directly contributed in 20 goals (10 goals and 10 assists).

However, in the current campaign, he has been inconsistent and so far, he has not yet found the net in 13 appearances.

The versatile winger, who turned 27 yesterday, can effectively play anywhere in the attacking third, even as a center forward and United need a flexible player like him to improve the quality and depth of their offense.

Zaha has got searing pace, can dribble and strike the ball with both feet. In your view, should United splash the cash to re-sign him next summer.

  1. Getting Zaha,is a good idea,he will add pace and glamour to the scenario. I may suggest ,get Madison in and Lingard out, again, Pereira and Mata out Bruno in. zaha,Madison, and Bruno will certainly make huge impact to the club’s title race.

  2. No thanks, I just don’t see what all the fuss about Zaha is! He doesn’t do it week in week out for Palace why would he do it for us? I think he is so overrated, definitely not worth the money quoted and isn’t much better than some of the players we already have. Not for me
