In the summer of 2018, Manchester United signed Brazilian international, Fred. Since then, they have not signed any natural, top central midfielder to improve things in the center of the park.

The Red Devils must strengthen the midfield and reports are once again linking them with Scottish international John McGinn.

Transfer: Favorites Man United at the forefront to finally sign £67million star in summer – Report

Few days back, The Telegraph exclusively reported that the Old Trafford club are interested in signing the Aston Villa star, who is valued at around £40million.

Former Old Trafford defender, Paul Parker, has backed Man Utd to sign the 27-year-old from the Villa Park outfit. Praising the midfielder, the 57-year-old told Kelbet:

“He can definitely improve it (Man Utd), to be very honest. That’s something he will do. He was mentioned before, I think even Sir Alex mentioned him at first. Not many players come from Scotland and make an impact like he did.”

“John McGinn has made a huge difference at Aston Villa. An influential player. He definitely has a drive about him. If you look at him as a football player, you would take him every day of the week. John McGinn is an excellent football player with and without the ball, to be honest. I think he would be a fantastic asset to Manchester United.”

The former Hibernian FC player is an energetic star, who likes to consistently press in the center and this term, he has so far netted 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 18 league appearances for Aston Villa.

Parker claims that the biggest stumbling block for the Red Devils to sign the midfielder is Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool legend would never want to sell anyone to Manchester United.
