Man Utd backed to agree signing of £200,000-a-week striker

Kane and Son Spurs

Manchester United have been linked with Harry Kane for some time and now, they have been backed to sign the Tottenham star by a former player.

Dion Dublin thinks that the Red Devils need to sign a proven quality goal scorer to improve things up front and they should push to hire the services of the England skipper.

Transfer: Man United could move to sign £70million Sancho alternative

The 51-year-old even claimed that signing Kane would be more important for United than landing the likes of Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho. Dublin told the Premier League Productions (via The Express):

“I think United still need a 25-goal man up front,”

“I would go to Spurs and say, ‘here’s £150m, give us Kane’ or ‘there’s £200m, give us Kane.

Back in April, The Mail claimed that Tottenham want a mammoth fee of £200million for their prized asset. Moreover, the British source also mentioned that the 26-year-old is keen on moving to the Old Trafford outfit.

Robin Van Persie was the last striker to score 20+ league goals for us in a season. That happened way back in 2012-13 and now the Dutchman is enjoying retirement. Kane’s record clearly indicates that he has what it takes to improve the goal-scoring situation at Old Trafford.

He has already won the Premier League Golden Boot on two occasions (2015-16 and 2016-17). He won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup after netting 6 goals in the tournament.

On the other hand, he was the top scorer in the Euro (to be held in 2021) Qualification campaign with 12 goals for the Three Lions.

As far as this season is concerned, the 45-capped international has so far scored 19 goals in 29 starts in all competitions for Spurs. In your view, should Man United push to agree the signing of Harry Kane in the summer?
