Man Utd backed to secure signing of £70million play-breaker

Rice and Sancho for England

Manchester United have been interested in luring Declan Rice for quite some time and the lately, they have been backed to sign the England international.

Simon Jordan, talking exclusively to talkSPORT, claims that the West Ham star is better than the likes of Fred and McTominay and should walk into the side at Old Trafford.

Transfer: Man Utd could move to secure signing of £101,000-a-week star – Report

Jordan stated:

“Rice goes alongside McTominay [at Man United]. For me, he’s better than Fred and when you look at McTominay going into the West Ham side, he’s not going to play in one of the forward midfield positions. Soucek is the top scorer at the football club and there’s an argument that Rice is better than McTominay.”

“Both teams play a 4-2-3-1 so I think the two holding midfielders at West Ham, Soucek and Rice, stay but I think if Rice goes to Manchester United he takes the position of either McTominay or Fred.”

Last month, ESPN reported that Man Utd are willing to splash the cash in summer and want to hire the services of the 22-year-old play-breaker.

The famous source revealed that the Hammers would demand a fee of £70million to allow their prized asset to leave in the next transfer window.

In all fairness, Man Utd do need a specialist defensive midfielder in the squad. Solskjaer’s only natural DM is Nemanja Matic, who will turn 33 this year, he is clearly past his best and rarely starts for the Red Devils.

Therefore, a top holding midfield star should be brought and Declan Rice is proving to be a major hit in the Premier League. The young play-breaker has already made 10 appearances for the senior national side as well.

In your opinion, is Rice better than the likes of Fred and McTominay?

  1. Won’t happen. He wants to stay in London and has already said he has no interest in Utd. 😂😂
