Man Utd could move to secure signing of £101,000-a-week star – Report

Varane Real Madrid

Manchester United have been linked with Raphael Varane for a very long time and the latest reports suggest that the Red Devils could move to secure his signing in the summer.

The 27-year-old central defender’s contract at the Bernabeu will expire in 2022 and Marca claim that Real Madrid would consider selling him if he does not agree a new contract.

Transfer: Man Utd told £52.6million will get playmaker signing done – Report

The renowned Spanish outlet have mentioned that Manchester United want to hire the services of the French international, who earns around 6 million euros a year (£101,000-a-week) and could be lured for a fee of 50 million euros in the summer transfer window.

Similarly, Mundo Deportivo have also reported that Varane has been on Man Utd’s agenda for some time but every time they have approached the player, the Los Blancos have blocked his transfer. However, things could be different this time around.

Varane is a proven world class center half, who has won every major title with the Spanish giants multiple times.

He made his debut for France back in 2013 and so far, the former Lens player has played 70 games for the senior national side. He was part of the squad that won the World Cup in 2018 under the guidance of Didier Deschamps.

United do need to improve their central defense. Maguire is the captain but he has been inconsistent and not good enough to command the back-line at Old Trafford.

Varane has quality and experience and he is at his peak. For a decorated star like him, a fee of 50 million euros should really be considered as a bargain and Man Utd should move to secure his signing.
