Man Utd best positioned to sign £59million star to replace Maguire – Report

Manchester United have already conceded 38 goals in 28 Premier League fixtures in the current season and things have been poor at the back even after bringing in Varane.

One of the biggest problems for us is the inconsistent form of skipper, Harry Maguire, who is still the most expensive defender in the world.

News – Man United willing to pay transfer fee to sign £33.5million star in summer – Report

The England international was brought to Old Trafford to transform the backline like Van Dijk did at Anfield but he is nowhere near the quality of the Dutch superstar.

In such a scenario, reports coming from Spain (Fichajes) suggest that the Red Devils are looking at four options to replace their captain and one of them is French international Jules Kounde.

It is stated that Man Utd are among the best positioned teams to sign the central defender but they might have to pay a huge fee of over 70 million euros (£59million) to get his signing done.

The 23-year-old was a key member of the Sevilla side that won the Europa League two years ago. Moreover, he has proved to be a rock solid defender under the management of Julen Lopetegui.

As far as this season is concerned, so far, in 20 league starts for the Andalusian club, Kounde has helped the team keep 12 clean sheets.

For the Les Bleus, so far, he has earned 7 caps and was part of the squad that lifted the UEFA Nations League trophy last year under Didier Deschamps.

Do you think Man Utd should get rid of Harry Maguire? Is Jules Kounde good enough to replace him at Old Trafford?

  1. Man utd should do everything possible to replace Maguire with a quality centre back. He’s been the major problem in the team and the reason they are where they are right now.

  2. Unfortunately maguire was a bad buying, he’s neither up to the role of skipper nor he is a good enough defender to held the positon.
If it was just this, it could be arranged perhaps through time and training, but he seems not to be helping to a more appeased team.
