Man Utd are not financially blessed currently and their project is in kind of a standstill from a sporting perspective.
Ruben Amorim is trying to take the reins and steer the ship out of choppy waters but that isn’t going to be easy.

What the Red Devils are going through is a culmination of years of financial mismanagement, overpaying for players and bringing in stars and managers without a clear plan on continuity. Amorim has now take over at a very delicate stage.
If it already isn’t broken, the upcoming summer is make-or-break not just for Amorim but for United in general. They need to make the right transfer decisions but without European football (potentially), they are going to find it tough to sign players.
Now, as per today’s edition of The Daily Star [image attached below], Man Utd are set to lose out on key target as Liverpool are leading the race to secure the signing of talented Dutch playmaker Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. Man Utd recently held exploratory talks over a move.
The blow for the Red Devils is that Liverpool are on course to enjoy a historic season under Arne Slot and the Dutch coach holds an advantage in convincing his compatriot to join his project at Anfield and play as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, should the Egyptian leave.
The presence of former coach, Jurgen Klopp, at Red Bull, also gives the Anfield side the edge to get the deal done.
Manchester City are also interested with Pep Guardiola said to be a fan. Simons has impressed immensely in the past couple of seasons which he has spent with RB Leipzig but until very recently, he was still on PSG’s books, before the German club paid £50m to make it permanent.
Now, as per the report, Leipzig would be willing to let him go for around £80m in the summer if any top club was to make an offer.
However, one doubts Man Utd can afford to spend so much on one player when they have a whole multipart surgery to perform.
Even if Simons was to leave, he is very likely to move to a club playing regular Champions League football and Man Utd would be better of focusing on cheaper options who can help build the project at Old Trafford.
